In 2008 TNK-BP in Ukraine transferred more than 3,7 billion hryvnya to the budget

February 02, 2009, Monday

Based on the results of 2008, the companies of TNK-BP Group in Ukraine transferred more than 3,7 billion hryvnya of taxes and duties  to the budgets of all levels, and this amount is 55 million hryvnya higher than the indices in 2007. In particular, payments to the local budgets grew by 23 %, while the amount of social contributions, including the ones to the Pension Fund of Ukraine, was raised by more than one third.

«TNK-BP in Ukraine is five and a half thousand employees, engaged in the sphere of supply and processing of crude oil and wholesale and retail trading of the petroleum products, — Sergey Lizunov, LLC TNK-BP Commerce President, has noted. — The Lisichansk Oil Refinery is one of the key enterprises of the Group, providing 20 % of the Lugansk oblast’ payments to the State Budget last year. Besides the payment of taxes in 2008, pursuant to the Agreement on cooperation in the social partnership sphere, TNK-BP in Ukraine sent more than 6,5 million hryvnya for regional programs».

According to the Company’s Manager, subject to the systemic support to the petroleum refining industry from the side of the Government, national oil refineries could raise their volumes of production and, accordingly, intensify the tax payments.

«In the first line it is necessary to harmonize export and import policy to establish equal competition conditions at the market and to stimulate modernization of the oil refineries, — Sergey Lizunov has underlined. — The top-priority objectives also include the establishment of effective systems for fuel quality control and protection of the intellectual property rights. Such approach will allow improving the position of conscientious producers and traders, which fact, in its turn, will have a positive impact on the filling of budgets and the social stability in the regions».
