For a place under the wing
The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has penalized three aviation fuel filling enterprises and the Boryspil’ Airport for an unprecedented amount of 265 million hryvnya. That was the penalty for abuse of the monopolistic market position while fixing the overstated prices for aviation fuel and provision of the specialized airport services. If these aviation fuel filling enterprises fail to appeal against the penalties in the court, it is highly probable that some of them will have to quit this business. There is already a new candidate to occupy the vacant position —ÒNK-ÂÐ Company, which is told to be a «promoter» of the antimonopoly investigation. The third largest retail market operator — LLC TNK-AVIA — supplies fuel from the Lisichansk Oil Refinery to Simferopol’, Donetsk, and Odessa. The Company is also represented at the Boryspil’ Airport, but only formally. Having obtained the permission to supply kerosene, it has no access to the fuel filling infrastructure, which is controlled by CREBO. TNK-AVIA Company has never succeeded in securing a place for itself at the Boryspil’ Airport, where LUK-Avia Oil and CREBO are already working.
