Guard (December 2005)

The President of LLC TNK-BP Ukraine Alexander Gorodetsky became one of the ten most successful managers of 2005 in Ukraine, ranking the sixth position in the country. The top-manager as well heads the branch division of the rating Oil and Gas and closes the five of the most influential businessmen in Ukraine.

On December 20 the Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko had a meeting with the Executive Director of LLC ÒNÊ-BP Management German Khan and the President of TNK-BP Ukraine Alexander Gorodetsky. The main issues of the meeting were the situation at the oil products market, mechanisms of optimization of the work of the Ukrainian oil refineries and modernization of their equipment.

Second Attempt

By 240 votes the Verkhovna Rada passed in the second reading the bill #7710, regulating production of mixed gasoline with use of bioethanol. According to this document the excise tax rate for mixed gasoline will be twice as low as the excise tax for common gasoline. According to the President of TNK-BP Ukraine Alexander Gorodetsky coming into effect of the bill on stimulation the production of mixed gasoline can affect the Ukrainian oil products market extremely negatively.

Ordinary lobbying
Appearance at the market of high-quality import oil products spoiled the plans and nerves of our monopolists, since they lost powerful sources of superprofits. Oil Processing Complex “Galichina” did not succeed to launch the oil processing which had been brought to a standstill in early summer. Only the biggest and comparatively new Krementchuk and Lisichansk Oil Refineries could be competitive in this situation. Only these two enterprises have hydrorefining units, which allow them to extract surplus of sulfur from the oil products.

Oil transportation
By the end of 2005 LLC TNK-BP Ukraine intends to pump 5,8 million tons of oil through the Odessa-Brody trunk oil pipeline. The President of LLC TNK-BP Ukraine Alexander Gorodetsky informed on December 23, that next year his company planned to pump about 6 million tons of oil through the Odessa-Brody Oil Pipeline. “We believe that these volumes are successful and possible”, — underlined he.

Negative balance of oil processing
On 20.12.05 the President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko held a meeting with the Executive Director of ÒNÊ-BP Management German Khan. The main issues of the meeting were the situation at the oil products market, mechanisms of optimization of the work of the Ukrainian oil refineries and modernization of their equipment. Besides, the meeting was dedicated to attraction of large investments in the oil processing industry in Ukraine. According to the President of TNK-BP Ukraine Alexander Gorodetsky, the necessity of the meeting was stipulated by the situation at the Ukrainian oil products market.

One million for a fight against cancer
Unique equipment for treatment of children having cancer diseases was passed to the Institute of Oncology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine by the Fund Ukraine 3000 and ÒNÊ-BP Ukraine. The ceremony of passing a certificate for the total of UAH 1 million for the medical equipment and medicine to the Pediatric Oncology Department of the Institute of Oncology of the National Academy of Sciences took place on the eve of Catholic Christmas. The participants of the charity action were represented by the spouse of the Ukrainian President, the Head of the Supervisory Board of the Fund «Ukraine 3000» Katherine Yushchenko and ÒNÊ-BP President Ukraine Alexander Gorodetsky.

The value of reputation
In late December the Russian-British company TNK-BP completed the second stage of corporate restructuring in Russia. Since in Ukraine ÒNÊ did not have such scattered assets the process of restructuring in our country has already been completed. The President of LLC TNK-BP Ukraine Alexander Gorodetsky said that ÂÐintroduced a whole bunch of new rules and standards, which will reflect on the business of TNK-BP Ukraine in short-term as well as in long-term perspectives.

Time of shadow petroleum storage depots

The prices for high-octane gasoline in large lot wholesale significantly grew. So, if in the beginning of the week the average price for one ton of À-95 was UAH 3 430, in the end of the week this price already increased up to UAH 3 670.This dynamics was perceived by the retail traders with optimism. They are saying that if this tendency will preserve, in ten days the fuel prices at the fuel stations in the country will start climbing. They explain their intentions by the policy of wholesale traders. However, the President of TNK-BP Ukraine Alexander Gorodetsky believes, that this does not represent the facts.

TNK-BP Ukraine will pump through Odessa-Brody Oil Pipeline 6 million tons of oil in 2006
Oil transportation through the Odessa–Brody Oil Pipeline in the reverse mode will make 5.8 million tons in 2005, stated the President of TNK-BP Ukraine Alexander Gorodetsky. According to him, thus the company’s plans to pump about 6  million tons in 2005 are practically fulfilled. In 2006 TNK-BP Ukraine intends to organize transportation of about 6 million tons of the Russian oil though this system. Alexander Gorodetsky noted, that the route could be regarded as effective at the background of reduction of oil transportation volume though other oil pipelines. “These volumes are successful”, — noted he.

LINOS became finalist of TNK-BP Corporate Premium Program
The results of the competition for a Prize of the Chairman of Board of Directors TNK-BP in sphere of labor protection, industrial safety and environment protection and a Prize of TNK-BP in sphere of technologies for 2005 have been summed up. LINOS became one of the three prize winners in nomination “Processing and trade”, – informs the Informational Department of the Lisichansk City Council.

LINOS faces shutdown
It cannot be ruled out that in January the Lisichansk Oil Refinery can be shutdown, said the Governor of the Lugansk State Administration Gennady Moskal. The Press-Department of TNK-BP Ukraine confirmed that the company’s losses in November amounted to almost $20 million.

The International Charity Fund “Ukraine 3000” and TNK-BP Ukraine held in Kiev a joint charity action and passed medical equipment and medicine to the Pediatric Oncology Department of the Oncology Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. According to the President of LLC TNK-BP Ukraine Alexander Gorodetsky, this action is another step of the company directed to realization of the Program of Corporate Social Responsibility. The Head of the Supervisory Board of the Fund “Ukraine 3000” Andrey Miroshnichenko informed that this action was the first charitable initiative jointly with TNK-BP Ukraine.

Cancer can be overcome. The doctors are sure about this, the parents and the children hope for this, the world experience confirms this. But if in the Western countries 70% of 100 patients recover from this illness, in Ukraine this index does not exceed 50%. The reasons for such unfavorable statistics are undue diagnostics, shortage of modern equipment and expensive medicine. All over the world the programs on fighting against cancer diseases are financed by patrons and charitable funds. In our country such experience is being just adopted. The Charitable Fund “Ukraine-3000” and TNK-BP Ukraine passed to the Pediatric Department of the Institute of Oncology medical equipment and medicine for the total of UAH 1 million.

LLC TNK-BP Ukraine will not participate in the auction on sales of 32,86% shares of the Open Joint Stock Company Oil Processing Complex “Galichina” (Drohobych Oil Refinery, Lvov Region) which will take place on January 25, 2006. Such statement was made by the President of TNK-BP Ukraine Alexander Gorodetsky at the meeting with the journalists in Kiev. ", — said Alexander Gorodetsky.
